App Concept: vnture

The city exploration app for New Yorkers. Find and collect new experiences around the city. Weekend fun, historical sites, pop-up events, volunteer opportunities–it’s all in the vnture app!

How Might We…

…help college students develop a better relationship with their self image?

…make working/interning environments less stressful?

…help students form stronger friendships?

…expose people to new experiences in their area?

Example of a landscape exploration for a HMW

Landscape Exploration

Chances are that your problem has already been addressed by someone else. What is out there? Why isn’t it working?

Affinity Mapping

A method of visually organizing thoughts, ideas, data, and insights to further understand the friction/pain points and (hopefully) get closer to something that addresses a problem in an effective and compassionate manner.

Interviews

Interview, ideate, brainstorm, co-design, interview again.

The user is the focus which means that they need to be a part of the process. I have learned to utilize interview and co-designing methods/tactics to get the most out of these interactions.

Ideation Exercises:

Worst Ideas (What is the worst idea you can come up with that would still address this issue?)

Combining Features (When are you stress-free? How could we take the features of that experience and combine them with this other stressful experience to make it less stressful?)

Scenarios (Pretend you are…)

HMW (How might we…)

These interactions lead to the discovery of new pain points and more ways to address them for your users.

Prototypes

Create prototypes: wireframes, user-flow diagrams, user stories, user personas, mock-ups. Get feedback: more interviews and co-designing sessions. Repeat.

How might we get people to explore and learn about NYC? Gamify, socialize, and incentivize. Prototype created using Figma.
